Chairman’s Message
Gampaha Co-operative Hospital society was established on 29th September 1962 with 40 members under the co-operative registration number N 162. The dedicated service and the commitment of The 18 chairmen, Members of the Board of Directors, Doctors and the Hospital Staff have contributed immensely to the hospital to be into its present high level of achievements.
We operate around the clock based on the co-operative concepts while confirming with the values and the principles of co-operative guidance. We foster an atmosphere of trust, collegiality, collaboration, openness and co-operation. We acknowledge our vital and dynamic role in our commitment. We provide responsible stewardship of our financial and human resources.
We pay a special focus on our membership by providing fringe benefits such as Free Medical Clinics, Pharmaceuticals at discounted rates and annual medical checkups. The longest standing members were felicitated and awarded for their service rendered.
The hospital has progressed and expanded in many areas of interests. It has been able to develop its infrastructure facilities, increased numbers and the specialities of Human Resources and the services provided. Also we are committed to the Social responsibilities and have contributed in many ways. The hospital has acquired many high-tech medical equipments such as 2D Echo Ultra Sound Scans.
We are pleased to state that the co-operative hospital has acquired a sound state of financial stability due to strict control and the accountability of financial management, according to our last financial statements.
We are in the process of upgrading our Eye clinical technologies with transplanting lenses. By 2020 our new 5 story building will be completed and thereafter the hospital will expand its services into upgraded surgical operation theatres, Maternity & Infant ward more rooms for general patients.
